What to Do When You Receive Your First Alert: Don't Panic

If you've just received your first alert from Uncompromized, take a deep breath—this is completely normal. In fact, it means the system is doing exactly what it’s supposed to do: helping you stay aware and in control of your digital footprint.  99% of our users get alerts within the first 24 hours of their subscription.

Why Am I Getting Alerts?

When you first sign up for Uncompromized and enable monitoring, we begin scanning a wide range of sources, including:

  • The dark web (where breached personal data is often traded or sold)

  • Public data sources that may show leaked passwords or usernames

  • Sex offender registries near your address

  • Other exposed databases known to contain identity-related information

These alerts don’t necessarily mean someone is actively trying to steal your identity—they just mean we’ve found data tied to you that you should be aware of.
